Welcome To Thomas's Free Stuff and Stuff Blog!

Everyone likes free stuff..including me! Around work I'm know as a guy who knows how to get stuff...for free or discounted.

Since I'm always sharing the companies and websites with my friends and family, my friend Randy suggested that I create a blog to let everyone know.

So here it is...my very own blog to let everyone know where to sign up for some good, free (or discounted) stuff. I'll let you know what's worth signing up for and what isn't.

I may also throw in a restaurant review now and again.

Happy reading and happy eating!

Free Piece of Grilled KFC

On Monday, October 26th, KFC is giving away ONE piece of its new Kentucky Grilled Chicken per customer.

You don't need a coupon, you don't need to buy anything else, you just need to show up and get your chicken.

Note that the free piece selection is at each individual manager's choice and may vary by location.

The offer applies to the new Grilled Chicken only.

If you go, don't expect a giant feast, just your one piece unless you choose to buy dinner as well.

And it's likely you may encounter a long line, but it sounds like they're going to do it all day, so if you pick the right time of the day, you may luck out.

Have fun and happy eating!

October's Choice of the Month

For October's Choice of the Month, I'm going with my favorite sit-down place for burgers and fries: Red Robin.

By joining the Red Robin eClub, you get your choice of any one of their gourmet burgers during the week before or the week after your birthday. You get to pick any hamburger on their menu, ranging from around $7.00 to up to $10.00 or so, depending on the area in which you live.

In addition, you also get a coupon when you sign up, usually for a certain dollar amount (most recently $3) off your next purchase there, good for 2 weeks from when you signed up.

They also occasionally send you promotional emails, including specials (Cheeseburger and Fries for $5) or Celebrate National Fire Prevention Week with a free kids meal with purchase of 2 gourmet burgers, etc, etc.

So here's the rundown:

PROS: FREE great tasting burger on your birthday (or thereabouts). In addition, you always get the Bottomless Steak Fries. Always order more fries and a To-Go Box before you leave! Their strawberry lemonades are also superbly delicious!

CONS: Red Robin isn't everywhere, so if there's not one close to you, I'm sorry. Also, there are the occasional extra emails that aren't for "free stuff," but good for some type of lesser discount nonetheless.

September Choice of the Month

September's Pick of the Month goes to the first birthday club I ever signed up for: The Blizzard Fan Club from Dairy Queen.

By joining the Blizzard Fan Club you will receive via email:
  • A FREE 16 fl. oz. Blizzard Treat with the purchase of another 16 fl. oz. Blizzard Treat email coupon just for joining the Club
  • Monthly emails containing new Blizzard treat promotions, flavor updates, contests and more
  • An email coupon on your Birthday and a special surprise every year you are in the Club (usually also BOGO coupon).
  • In addition, you will also get aBOGO each year on the anniversary of when you signed up for the club.
September bonus: Get $1 off coupon for the newest Blizzard treat, an Oreo Cookie Jar Blizzard.

UPSIDE: Who doesn't like Dairy Queen ice cream? With over 20 flavors of Blizzard you really can't go wrong! The Strawberry Cheesequake is my personally favorite.

Occasionally, you will also randomly get a coupon for a FREE Blizzard sometime during the year.

DOWNSIDE: The only real drawback here is that you have to BUY one in order to GET a free one. But if you have someone to share with, then it's not so bad.

Also, be aware that you may have issues selecting your date of birth when you sign in. For some reason some months work and some months don't. So if your DOB month isn't working, select a different one. December worked for my wife!

To Sign up: Click here to go directly to the Blizzard Fan Club sign up page.

Or go to BlizzardFanClub.com.

August's Choice of the Month

Since we started off with dessert last month, I thought I'd go with a main course for August. So the pick of the month for this month is Noodles & Company's Noodlegrams.

I was introduced to Noodlegrams by my sister-in-law, so most of the credit goes to her on this one.

And as you can probably guess from their name, most of their dishes have a noodle base. They have 3 main "categories" of meals to choose from: Asian, Mediterranean, and American. Each category will usually have 4 different styles to choose from on how you want your dish prepared. In addition, you can get beef, chicken, or shrimp added to your dish. For those who are unalbe to decide which to get added, the menu comes with recommendations, ie "great with braised beef." And if you don't like any of the options on the menu, you can customize your bowl to your liking. They also feature soups and salads.

Anyway, on to the pros and cons.

THE UPSIDE: Within a couple of days for signing up for Noodlegrams, you will get an email with a buy one get one free coupon. In addition, for the week of your birthday you get an email coupon for a free dish of your choice. The really super special bonus is that they will send you a buy one get one coupon each year on the date that you signed up for the Noodlegrams! It's the gift that keeps on giving!

THE DOWNSIDE: Not a whole lot of downside here. The menu is rather healthy (bowls come with veggies and sprouts--though some may consider that a downside) and they don't pester you with tons of spam emails. They will send out an occassional survey or announcement email, but usually no more than 2 a year or so.

The biggest DOWNSIDE is that they are only in 18 states right now. The website lists the states the company is located in so you can see if there is a location near you.

PLAN AHEAD: If there is more than one person in your family, you will probably want to sign up at different times of the year since you perpetually get a buy one get one on the anniversary of your sign up. For example, my wife and I signed up 6 months appart, so that she gets hers in March and I get mine in September. That way we can spread it out over a year and not have to eat there 4 times in one month. Although some of you may like that!

TO SIGN UP: You can sign up at www.noodles.com by placing your browser on the Navigation Map at the top of the page and then clicking on "Noodlegrams."

Or you can follow this link: http://noodle.fbmta.com/members/UpdateProfile.aspx?Action=Subscribe&InputSource=W

Their website also features a menu you can peruse to get an idea of their menu.

For my first "Freebie" post I thought I would tell everyone about one of my favorites...Cold Stone Creamery.

I highly recommend joining the Cold Stone Birthday Club. They have some of the best ice cream treats in the business! My favorite has been the French Toast, even though it is a special creation and is not available all the time.

THE UPSIDE: By joining the Club, you will get a coupon in your email for a free "Love It!" size Cold Stone Creation during the week of your birthday.

THE DOWNSIDE: The only real downside to the offer is that you only get a free/discount offer on your birthday. They will occasionally send out informational emails around certain holidays (Valentine's Day, Mother's Day, Father's Day, etc) letting you know of promotional offers they are running on some of their products--usually ice cream cakes. But they are few and far between and aren't usually a bother to my email.

You can sign up at the Cold Stone website www.coldstonecreamery.com or by copying and pasting the following link:
